T-Engine Forum will participate in ESEC2010.

T-Engine Forum will support the 13th Embedded Systems Expo (ESEC2010, organized by Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd.) which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake from Wednesday, May 12 to Friday, May 14 and exhibit there. We will introduce the TRON Engineer Certification Examination and the roadmap of T-Kernel at the booth of East 40-3. Business Support Center has been opened.

T-Engine Forum has opened “T-Engine Forum Business Support Center” to stimulate the business between its members and accelerate the business using T-Kernel and uID technologies by the members. This center serves as the “contact of consultation service for general matters” to assist business deployment using T-Kernel and uID technologies by business match-making among members and consultation for commercialization, etc. For details, please visit the T-Engine Forum members-only website. The Survey Report on FY2009 Embedded Real-time OS Usage Trend has been released.

T-Engine Forum has released the survey report on FY2009 embedded real-time OS usage trend on its website. This report is based on the survey conducted at Embedded Technology 2009 by TRON Association that was integrated into T-Engine Forum in January 2010. Similar reports have been issued for 14 times so far. The FY2009 survey report shows that the number of T-Kernel specification API and ITRON specification API account for 50 percent or more for the transition of API of the embedded system OSs. It also shows that the number of POSIX or UNIX system API which had been increasing before the survey turned into downward trend. T-Engine Forum plans to continue this annual survey and provide the information to the public. For details, please visit the following website:

TRONWARE VOL.122 – Introduction to TRON and Open Source is now on sale.

“TRONWARE” is a T-Engine and ubiquitous ID/Internet real-time collaborating magazine edited by Ken Sakamura, Chair of T-Engine Forum/Professor at the University of Tokyo. “TRONWARE” is on sale at main bookstores across the country and on the Personal Media Corporation web shop, and new issue appears on the 5th of even-numbered months. The feature in the current issue VOL. 122 is “Introduction to TRON and Open Source” from a point of view of TRON project with “Open × Open = ∞” (Infinity)” concept. This magazine introduce the fundamental concept of open source, an explanation of TRON Charter, and open software and communities which collaborate with T-Kernel. A talk between the person in charge of TRON-related development from Microsoft Corporation which has taken a big step forward Open source and Ken Sakamura, Chair of T-Engine Forum is covered as well. Personal Media Corporation has released Teamacaron.

Personal Media Corporation (Shinagawa City, Tokyo) has started accepting orders for “macaron type” control computer, “Teamacaron.” This computer has ARM11 core CPU and various interfaces such as RGB monitor output, LAN, USB, microSD card, serial, etc. in its 50 mm square semi-open package. Also, it comes with OS and middleware such as T-Kernel, T-Kernel Extension, TCP/IP, and PMC T-Shell. Currently, Personal Media accepts orders at its web shop and will make shipment from April 30. They provide “Teamacaron Development Kit” that can be used for prototyping embedded devices and “Teamacaron Execution Kit” that can be embedded into end products without change. TOSHIN ELECTRIC CO., LTD. (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa) has been developing and selling drive recorder implemented with µITRON, “CPiRe”. “CPiRe” has an image compensation function that can record clear images even at dusk when many accidents occur for the first time as drive recorder.
