Introduction of the symposium:

There has been a talk about the emerging RFID market for several years now. However, the tone of the reports from the Japanese media has recently been mainly that there is not much going on in the RFID market. Contrary to the tone, in reality, business applications of RFID technology have been steadily expanding. Smartphones overseas are equipped with an NFC reader as a standard feature, which is just one example of rapidly increasing use of RFID. We will take a look at the overview of the global trend first, and then presentations on the latest trend of RFID and leading RFID manufacturers’ approaches to RFID follow. Finally, the manufacturers and T-Engine Forum Chair Sakamura will discuss the trend of RFID further in the panel session.
