Embedded Technology 2012 (ET2012, organizer: Japan Embedded Systems Technology Association (JASA)) will be held at PACIFICO Yokohama in Yokohama city on Wednesday, November 14 to Friday, November 16, 2012. Chair Sakamura will give a special speech “Embedded systems technology in the cloud age” from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. there. Participation is for free, but requires the registration in advance. ◆Survey on Embedded Real-time OS Usage Trends will be conducted at ET2012.

T-Engine Forum will conduct the annual ”Survey on Embedded Real-time OS Usage Trends” targeted for embedded systems developers at the corridor near the entrance of the venue of ET2012.

◆Ubiquitous Computing Technology Corporation has started to offer kokosil Tokyo Guide

Ubiquitous Computing Technology Corporation has started to offer “kokosil Tokyo Guide” on Tuesday, October 9. This is an application for Android smartphone and sightseeing guide targeting tourists in Tokyo from overseas. On this service, the recommended special tourist spots are introduced and guided by 100 people who are familiar with Tokyo and active in various fields, and live in many places in the world such as New York, London, Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and Seoul. ◆FUJITSU COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED has started to offer a development support service adopting μT-Kernel.

FUJITSU COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED announced on Wednesday, October 17 that they would start a development support service adopting μT-Kernel. They provide their customer companies with services for developing small devices including the provision and porting of μT-Kernel in the devices and solving customers’ problems. ◆Personal Media Corporation has started to ship exFAT for PMC T-Kernel.

Personal Media Corporation has developed ”exFAT for PMC T-Kernel” which provides high-capacity exFAT file system on ”PMC T-Kernel 2,” a real-time OS for embedded devices from Personal Media, and has started to ship it since Wednesday, October 31. This product allows exFAT file system which supports high-capacity media over 32 GB to be used on “PMC T-Kernel 2.” It can support high-capacity media such as USB memory, HDD and SDXC card by combining with compatible system disk drivers.

◆The application for the 16th TRON Engineer Certification Examination for March 2, 2013 is now accepted.

The TRON Engineer Certification Examination is held by T-Engine Forum. It evaluates the technical skill of engineers who use embedded real-time operating system such as T-Kernel and ITRON-specification OS objectively, and aims to establish an objective standard for the advanced technological skill of engineers.
The application for the 16th TRON Engineer Certification Examination (Venue: Gotanda, Tokyo) on Saturday, March 2, 2013 is now accepted. For details, please see the following website.

◆"TRONSHOW2013" will be held from Wednesday, December 12 to Friday, December14.

"TRONSHOW2013" will be held at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi, Tokyo from Wednesday, December 12 to Friday, December 14, 2012. In this symposium, the latest research results of embedded technologies focusing on T-Kernel and ITRON specification OS and ubiquitous ID technologies will be presented.
This symposium will introduce various proposals toward the realization of ubiquitous computing environments at home and abroad, and many achievements of TRON Project such as embedded microprocessors, T2EX and ITRON specification OS. A special event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of T-Engine Forum is also planned
Also, annual ”TEPS2013,” TRON Enableware Symposium where the support for the physically-challenged by computers is discussed will be held in parallel on Saturday, December 15.
