***T-Engine Forum E-Mail Magazine January 2010 Issue***

Happy New Year. This is the January 2010 issue of T-Engine Forum's monthly e-mail magazine.

The resolution to dissolve TRON ASSOCIATION was passed at the extraordinary general meeting of TRON ASSOCIATION held on December 25, 2009. The activities which have been conducted by ITRON Specification Study Group, TRON Education and Promotion Group, and TRON Multi-Character Application Group of TRON ASSOCIATION will be taken over by T-Engine Forum.

In the embedded systems field, ITRON specification OS and T-Kernel account for approximately 60 percent in market share. By adding those who consider adopting ITRON specification OS to T-Engine Forum activity, we will work together on the dissemination and educational activity of open OS based on TRON specifications.

This year, TRON activity will go global. For example, T-Engine Forum China established in China in 2009 will start day-to-day operation, and TRONSHOW is planned to be held outside Japan such as in China, EU, etc. for the first time.

Real world application of ubiquitous ID technology including ucode have progressed in various fields as well as various feasibility study experiments. We are expecting to introduce many usage examples using ucode this year.

Thank you for your continuing support to TRON Project in advance and best wishes to all of you.

January 1, 2010
Ken Sakamura
