Introduction of the symposium:

Due to the detailed process, the latest embedded microcomputer (MCU) equipped with ROM/RAM can perform communication functions, GUI and advanced control which could be realized by processor microcomputers only. Along with the advanced processing, real-time OS has been used more widely in new application fields such as sensor network and healthcare for the "IoT: Internet of Things" and "M2M" in addition to the existing applications such as vehicles and information appliances. We will take a look at the overview of the global trend in the new microcomputer applications first, and then presentations on the leading manufacturers’ approaches to the recent embedded microcomputer. Finally, the manufacturers and T-Engine Forum Chair Sakamura will discuss the latest embedded microcomputer further in the panel session.

A symposium titled "What’s happening to the latest microcomputer?" will be held at Ito International Research Center in the University of Tokyo on Friday, June 1. In this symposium, a keynote speech will be given by Chair Sakamura, and approaches to introduce modern microprocessors by major microcomputer manufacturers will be introduced.
